Cancellation Policy:

Owner’s Cancellation:

  • No Penalty: You can cancel the service with at least 48 hours' notice before the first scheduled visit without any penalty.

  • Late Cancellation: If owner cancels with less than 24 hours before the service commences, you will be charged in full, unless the cancellation is due to severe weather, death in the family, or a medical emergency.

.
Sitter’s Cancellation:

  • By Sitter: If the sitter needs to cancel within 48 hours of the scheduled visit due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered a full refund if payment has been made.

  • Substitute Sitter: If the sitter needs to cancel within 48 hours, they may appoint a substitute sitter, but only with your written approval. Any difference in fees for the substitute sitter will be covered by the sitter.

  • Owner's Late Payment: If the owner fails to make payment 24 hours before the service starts, the sitter may cancel the booking without penalty to the sitter.

Aggressive Pets:
If your pet becomes aggressive, the sitter may:

  • Request a replacement sitter for the remainder of the booking.

  • Arrange for a Guardian to take over pet care until your return.

  • Place the pet in a kennel or animal care facility at your expense if the Guardian is unavailable.

Emergency Contact:
In an emergency, the sitter will contact you. If unreachable, the sitter is authorised to:

  • Take the pet to the listed vet.

  • Request on-site vet treatment.

  • Take the pet to an emergency clinic if needed.

Confidentiality:

  • All keys, access codes, and personal information will be kept safe and confidential, returned at the end of the contract or upon demand.

  • The sitter will not discuss you or your pets with anybody except professionals where there is a genuine need. The sitter operates a strict client confidentiality policy.

Liability:

  • The sitter is not liable for security breaches, property loss, or damage if others have access during the contract.

  • The sitter is not liable for mishaps involving pets with unsupervised outdoor access.

  • You are liable for medical expenses or damages if your pet injures the sitter or damages property.

  • The sitter is not liable for transporting pets to/from vet clinics or kennels, medical treatments, or related expenses.

Social Media:

  • Photographs of pets in care will not be shared on social media without express owner permission.

Illness and Prevention:

  • Up-to-date vaccinations are required for dogs that are walked in public and in group walks (homeopathic vaccinations are not accepted).

  • To ensure the health and safety of all pets, your pet must be up-to-date with flea and worm treatments—please consult your vet for the correct treatment schedule. Fleas can cause severe discomfort, spread diseases, and infest homes, making prevention essential. If fleas are found during the pet sit, I will unfortunately need to end the arrangement immediately to avoid the risk of spreading fleas to my home or other clients' homes.

  • Pets in overnight care will be checked daily for signs of infection or disease.

  • If signs of infection, injury, or disease are observed, the owner will be contacted. If unreachable, the pet may be taken to the vet without permission (subject to a signed vet release form).

  • Animals must be registered with a vet, and details must be provided at booking.

  • Medication will be given according to veterinary instructions.

Feeding:

  • Pets will be fed according to the owner’s instructions.

  • Clean water will be provided and refreshed as necessary throughout the pet sitting period.

  • If any dietary concerns arise, the owner will be contacted.

Death of a Pet:

  • In the event of a pet's death, the owner will be contacted. The registered vet will be contacted, and the pet will be taken to them by the sitter, or stored in a secure location in the home, after discussing next steps with the owner.

Meet and Greets:

  • A free meet and greet is required before the service starts. This ensures necessary forms are completed, the pet is comfortable, and both parties can discuss any concerns, the booking details, scheduling, fees, and emergency contact information.
