Monthly Roundup - April

I hope you’ve all had a good April and managed to get some chill time. April is always mega busy for me with everyone being away, so it’s not quite as relaxing on my end, but even when I’m tired I’m always so happy to see my animal friends. Perks of doing something I love so much 🥰
A big highlight this month, I qualified as a Mantrailing Instructor with the Association of Professional Working Dogs. It’s something I’ve been working towards for a little while behind the scenes, so it’s mega exciting to finally get my workshops up and running.
I’ve also been working with plenty of training clients, which I’ve really enjoyed. I find it SO interesting looking at why dogs do what they do, not just jumping to correct behaviours but actually understanding what’s driving them in the first place.
And we’ve had some gorgeous weather the past few days. It makes such a difference being out in the sunshine, seeing butterflies, flowers starting to bloom, and the tadpoles swimming about. I love this time of year.

Product of the Month 🧸
Tug-E-Nuff Bob. New bit of kit in my training belt and every dog I’ve used it with has loved it.

It’s been brilliant for building engagement and working on impulse control.
It also floats and cleans up easily, which is ideal when most of my training ends up in muddy, boggy places.

Tip of the Month 🌳
An easy game to play on your walls - hide treats in a tree or tree stump, there’s usually plenty of little gaps to use. Pop your dog into a wait, then send them to “find”. It’s more tiring than you’d think, and it’s especially useful for dogs that get easily overstimulated as it’s not too intense and can be really calming.

Hope you all have a lovely May and we get more of this sunshine. Teddy has been making the most of it sunbathing in the garden, and I know plenty of my client pups have been doing exactly the same ☀️
