I’m so excited to share that I’m a finalist in the Entrepreneur of the Year category at the Neurodiverse Business Awards.

I’ve always known I was different, and for a long time I felt like I wasn’t thriving as an adult. Things that seemed easy for others – socialising, managing day-to-day life, or coping in certain work environments – were really challenging for me. I didn’t think life was supposed to feel quite this hard, so when I was diagnosed with autism, it was a huge relief. I realised I wasn’t broken – I just needed to create a life and a way of working that suited me. That’s how PMF Pets began.
PMF Pets has grown into a dog walking and pet sitting business built around consistency, care, and a deep understanding of each animal. Being autistic has undoubtedly shaped how I work. I can hyperfocus, giving all my attention to each animal, and I naturally dive deep into researching every breed, type, and potential medical condition. I notice details others might miss, spot early signs of stress or discomfort, and adapt what I’m doing to make a real difference for the pets and their owners. My curiosity, persistence, and pattern-finding help me see solutions or adjustments others might overlook, so every pet gets the very best care.
Even if I don’t win, being a finalist is huge, and I couldn’t be happier. It’s meaningful to be recognised for something I’ve put my heart and soul into, and it’s a reminder that doing things differently can be a real strength.
The Awards highlight the value neurodiverse people bring to business and working life, and celebrate the individuals and organisations helping to build more inclusive workplaces across the UK. Being recognised in this way feels incredibly special, and I’m so grateful.

I’m looking forward to travelling to London in March with my mum for the ceremony. It will be a lovely chance to celebrate alongside the other finalists and mark this special moment.
Thank you to everyone who has supported PMF Pets along the way. I’m genuinely delighted, and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
